What Life is Really Like as an Intern at Casamona International
Being a rental agent is not a 9-5 job and every day is completely different. The days are busy but the knowledge and experience gained are unmatched. One day, you can find yourself engrossed in flat finding, trying to find the perfect apartment that fits the "Casamona Style", the next you can be out on visits, showing clients our incredible apartments. As Casamona means "cosy home", the kind of apartments we like here in the team, are ones that you would love to live in yourself, with bright light and traditional Catalan features, perhaps a terrace to soak up the Barcelona sun. At Casamona, we strive for high-end, amazing quality apartments, with modern touches, yet capture the historical culture of the city of Barcelona.
Some days I have so many clients to keep happy and satisfied, that I dedicate my whole day to their needs and wants. By making clients feel appreciated, I ensure that they stay with Casamona and recommend our service to all of their families and friends.
When I have many clients to organize, my day goes very quickly and the days get more and more exciting, as I have more to do.
A Day in the Life
An average day as a Casamona rental agent intern consists of many things. On arrival at the office, everyone joins the morning meeting, where we all say our plans and what we want to achieve that day. Next, I will check my emails, and reply to any clients/owners with anything that they need. Whilst doing this, I will do a daily check-in with clients, previous and present, to check that everything is still okay with them, and if there is anything that I can do to make their experience with Casamona better.
After this, I will spend a few hours dong UC, which consists of calling previous owners and checking if their apartments are available to rent again. If so, and they are happy for us to do this, we will republish their apartment on our website, to try and find them clients. In the afternoon, I like to spend some time flat-finding on portals such as Idealista and CasaFari, in order to boost the company's portfolio. Then, before heading home, I make sure that my to-do list from the morning is completed, and that all of my emails have been answered, so that I can start fresh the next day.
The Dreaded Visa Process
In order to be an intern from the UK at Casamona, you have to obtain a visa. Unfortunately for us, it is a long and difficult process. However, it must be said that it has been the most rewarding experience and worth every second of stress. even though it will take a lot of dedication and commitment, from getting an appointment at the embassy to compiling all of your documents, if you ever feel like quitting the process of getting a visa, don't. However, once you arrive and immerse yourself in the culture, you will realize that it was the best decision you could have made.
Casamona Family
Casamona is a place of happiness and acceptance, as we have interns from all over the world working together in one space. The mix of nationalities allows you to make friends from all over the globe; Sarah, one of our marketing interns , says that "Casamona is a place of community and friendship." and I couldn't agree more. There is nothing more comforting than working in a place, where you feel appreciated and welcomed.
